Sonic for Genesis and CD was
definitely a high point in my childhood. Have you guys ever played that one fairly open-ended game for Sega CD that involves some mysterious gang member or something who keeps infecting the townsfolk with a really deadly virus that consumes them from inside (or something like that)? I think it was called "Thunder (something)." I just rediscovered the exact name a few months ago... but then I forgot! It's set in a big metropolis.
I
still remember that one part where you go up to the bouncer at some club, and if you give him the wrong response when trying to get in, he says, "You got a death wish or something??
"
There was a point-and-click cursor like with a computer mouse, I think, too. Lots of fun there...
It's not necessarily a video game, per se, but the Leisure Suit Larry franchise was
always a big hit with me, too! And Dad... The one for PS2 wasn't too bad. However, the PS3 one was such a bomb!
The game's creator (Al Lowe, I think) left not long after LSL7 (Love for Sail) was done, which really hurt it.
