First topic message reminder :

In this thread, you may discuss the newest videos in the abridged community. Have fun with it and give your honest opinions. There are only a few rules to abide by, they are:

1. Keep insults to yourself.
2. Have a valid argument behind why a video isn't to your preference.
3. No harmful words to others.

5. You are able to post you're own videos you have created, however explain that it is yours before posting.

I don't troll, I'm just saying that if I watch an abridged, it's because I like the anime. If the characters don't sound like the ones from the anime, then it just kinda ruins it for me, along with (I'm sure) many other people.

That's kinda picky, its just a comedy show. I think your placing too many expectations that that shouldn't be there. If they tried so hard to sound like the actual character then It wouldn't be anything original.A abridged or MENT series would begin and end at being a parody and nothing more

You've got pretty good VO quality and editing, but I feel the script sticks to close the original script and I dunno, humor just doesn't work for me in a lot of places. I guess it doesn't feel snappy enough.

I guess I feel what makes a lot of abridged and MENT series good is the absurdity of it all, and the absurdity in that Soul Eater one doesn't seem to be quite there.

Yeah, I know what you mean. It wasn't super crazy and silly. We tried to find a good balance between telling a good story and jokes. We're still learning and getting better at this parody thing. Part 2 is a bit more silly but maybe not to your standard of silliness. Perhaps I would suggest a project we did for 4/20 called "Stoner Ball GT." That is one of my favorites because of, like you said, the absurdity of it.

Yeah. I liked how part 1 came out. But I feel that part 2 is gonna be where the real fun begins. And yes. Stonner Ball GT is by far the best thing I think Dejay and I have scripted. And is easily one of our better vids.

Gotta say Dejay and Skoringo's new Soul Eater Parody was great, I could even say enjoyed it more than Ezikiebhdbjhbdjhxbjxhbjhxjhbjxd's (Cant spell it) parody of it, keep in mind it is outdated I guess. Only problem I had was probably the use of awkward silence between shots, it was a little overplayed. The burp was fantastic how it changed tune. Wish I thought of that stuff XD

That is a good idea though. Doing a 2-shot would be pretty creative. I'll have to remember that for the future.

Wouldn't one shot be called a one shot because it one go to make?
If it was a two shot, that might mean it took two go's at it to make it. I'm not very sure myself.

Nah, a one shot just means your making one attempt at it and not doing any more with that series. A two shots means your taking two attempts or two episodes.

Thanks for teh kind words on the one shot guys. Like Dejay said, it is gonna be a 2 parter due to length and for those watching, youve probably figured out we've combined all 3 of the first episodes to make this one shot. It's kind of a what if situation to say what if the meisters and their weapons were given their death scythe missions on the same day and they all failed at the same time. And yeah part 2 will kick alot of schmo... Hopefully.
