My mom got me to watch a few episodes this season, I had no former knowledge of the series but what I saw I really liked. I probably should get to watching from start to finish

Well, if either of you would be interested in catching up with it before season 6 (Which most likely won't be until next summer), This video is a perfect way to start. It's a pretty effective recap of the first 3 seasons. Assuming, of course, that you don't want to just watch all of the episodes.

Yeah, it gets a little confusing at times. Things get really nuts and complicated in season 5.

How do you get panther babies in Louisiana?...that's when it stopped making since for me

Yeah, that's one of the main problems some people have with the series. They find it hard to believe, therefore, hard to watch.

I never very much liked the were-panthers, anyways. Thankfully, they don't stay for long. Not a lot of people cared about them.

Thats good, shape shiftier that only turn into dogs. I can let that go, but once you throw werepanthers in there it becomes obvious your really reaching for a sub plot

The shifters can transform into any animal they choose. Each one just has a go-to animal that they prefer. Sam's is a Collie.
They do a very good job of differentiating the species, anyways. Shifters have no external abilities besides shifting, but Werewolves have enhanced smell, strength, ect. I'd say every species is about equal... Excluding the vampires that are over a few hundred years old, as they become more powerful with age.

Well, Sam does kill a vampire in probably the greatest way possible in the season 5 finale.
